Schumann Motorsports CLASTRES
DRAG RACING - THE FASTEST MOTORSPORT IN THE WORLD
...and EMKA is right in the middle as a sponsor when up to 100,000 drag race enthusiasts cheer on their favorite cars and the scent of asphalt, gasoline, oil, and melted rubber fills the air. Three events in Clustres are already over. At the 3rd event, Janine Petzold with the PRO ET 915 was only stopped in the final, securing a well-deserved 2nd place. Eleanor and Oliver Petzold were eliminated on Sunday in the round of 16. In August, the Nitrolympix in Hockenheim is coming up, and the team can be found as usual in pit area 32-34, and we are keeping our fingers crossed.
And for all those with octane in their blood, here are a few background infos about the sport itself, the team, and the real stars of SCHUMANN MOTORSPORT:
Drag racing is an acceleration race over the "quarter mile," a distance of 402.33 meters. In a race, 2 vehicles compete against each other on parallel tracks. Performances of several thousand horsepower and accelerations from 0 to 100 km/h in under a second are not uncommon. To be successful in drag racing, you not only need powerful vehicles that are always well-maintained but also a team that works hand in hand, a crew chief who always keeps an overview, and enthusiastic drivers who keep a cool head during the race.
